Whiskers was a cat with a singular talent: achieving maximum relaxation with minimal effort. While other cats chased laser pointers or performed daring leaps, Whiskers excelled at the fine art of existing. His kingdom was the cozy apartment he shared with his human, Lily.
Every morning, Lily would try to motivate Whiskers with chirpy enthusiasm. “Time for breakfast!” she’d call. Whiskers would stretch luxuriously, then saunter to his bowl as though doing her a personal favor.
One day, determined to see some action from her furry companion, Lily bought the latest interactive cat toy: a motorized mouse with flashing lights. She placed it in the center of the living room and turned it on.
The mouse zipped across the floor with mechanical precision, blinking and spinning. Whiskers opened one eye, unimpressed. He watched lazily as the toy performed its programmed gymnastics.
“Come on, Whiskers! Chase it!” Lily urged.
Whiskers blinked slowly—a deliberate gesture that seemed to say, “You’re kidding, right?” After a long pause, he stretched, reached out a single paw, and batted the mouse exactly once. It spun wildly, then toppled over, its light dimming in surrender.
Satisfied with his minimal participation, Whiskers resumed his nap, purring softly. Lily sighed but couldn’t help smiling. “Congratulations, you’ve defeated the enemy… with maximum efficiency.
